Soooooo.... are we ready to roll??

I hope by now you've chosen a journal, but if not, that will be your first goal.  And the good thing is, I won't tell if you change your mind ;)!  Think about how you like to work or what you want to try with this journal.  Some people like to have several journals going at once.  Others pick one and fill it before considering another.  It all depends on your goals and needs, what makes you tick and so forth.

I am using my Strathmore Mixed Media Artists Visual Journal, to get me using it, but I may also have a watercolor one on the side (sshhh) doing nature sketches.  Who knows?? You can do one page spreads, two page, half page, 5 pages, it doesn't matter.  Just do and get the inspiration out of your head and on the page!!

For this week, let's use favorite color(s), font(s) and a favorite quote (maybe) or emblem/icon/image to make the journal yours.  Be sure to add your contact information in there somewhere, just in case your journal decides to explore without you and maybe offer a reward for its safe return (you can do this on your title page or on a separate page).

So are you out there??? If you are, I'd love to meet you.  Please leave a comment and feel free to leave suggestions or links to your blog/gallery. Share your fave tools, adhesives, ideas.  And we'll see what Monday has in store for us.
Have a fabulous weekend!!!

It's about time!!! Trying something new here very soon!!

Hey all! I was out of town last week for a much appreciated vacation (as much as you can appreciate after doing a mountain of laundry & packing, then coming home to unpacking and a hill of laundry!! LOL but it was great to be somewhere else for a few days.)

I've been toying with some ideas and things I've been wanting to try. Meant to have this ready to launch today since it's a new month, I'm a new age and the month came in on a Monday.

See, I've been trying to get this art journalling thing going. I took all the fantastic courses at Strathmore (they're closed now but have more planned for January--keep an eye out!!). I follow The Sketchbook Challenge, A Year in the Life of an Art Journal and several prompt providers---not to discount them but don't want to miss anyone right now. I'll mention them as I go along.

Throughout the year, my favorite prompts have been a scavenger hunt type nature, add this & that and so....I want to try this for myself and I'm inviting you to give her a whirl with me!!!

My idea is on Mondays to give you a color(s) theme---paint, pencil, paper, however you want to do it. Tuesdays---a technique, maybe. Wednesday---ephemera & add ons. Thursday---a tool or surprise. Friday (maybe Thursday) a prompt to work on thru the weekend. Then share. I want you to be able to use what you have, not feel like you have to go buy something, unless you want to. I'm going to start working in a Strathmore Mixed Media Visual Journal, 9x12.

So what do you say?? Are you in??? While you pick your journal, I'm going to try to figure out a bit more here on blogger. Check back on Wed or Thurs for a mini challenge to start us off, ok??
